I was not happy that the person who checked me in forgot to tell me that you must swipe your room key in the elevator to go to your floor. As a result I was stuck in the elevator and freaked out until the door finally opened and I realized I had to swipe the key. We spent two nights here and used it as a base to explore Santa Monica and L.A. - a bit off though but of course a lot cheaper than the hotels on the other side of the mountain. The general neighborhood of the hotel was okay, nothing special. We didn't have any time to test the pool unfortunately.
