We recently spent two days in Custer, SD, and it was fantastic. Custer is a perfect base camp for taking in all the surrounding sites including Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Custer St. Park wildlife loop, and the Custer St. Park Sylvan Lake area including Black Elk Peak-Little Devils Tower-Cathedral Spires hikes.

Great central location to Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Mt Rushmore. You can get a decent meal. It is not just burger restaurants. Custer State Park has incredible wildlife especially at dawn and dusk. It is as good as most National Parks. The Custer tourist area is the same as any of the others but the buffalo sculptures set it apart. There is also a farmer's market downtown.Cynthia - 10Scored 10

The pride of ownership is evident in this motel, the property is extremely well taken care of and the rooms were spotless and very clean. The rooms were well equipped as well with a decent sized mini-fridge and microwave. The location is central to many great restaurants and shops. The coffee and tea in the morning was excellent as well. Highly recommend this local gem when staying in Custer, you won't be disappointed!

Seriously one of the best places I've stayed in a very long time. The cabin feel made me glad I spent the money to be there. I also really loved not having to buy dinner every night, making food there was a great addition to not staying in a hotel.
