The location was very convenient. It's close to downtown but it's also not on the strip with all the other hotels so it doesn't feel over crowded. Everything was super clean but didn't smell chemically. The water didn't make my skin super dry and the air wasn't super dry either which was nice. It looks like it was recently renovated.

I’ve been Staying in Mackinaw City for the last 21 years I’ve Been impressed with it since the 1st stay in 2002 I’ve even stayed There The Last week of November and I walked the Bridge in 2022I KNOW it’s NOT the Chamber of Commerce’s Fault BUT the Prices of EVER-THING Has Gone EXTREMELY HIGH for Elderly Visitors The Best Prices I found was when I stayed in November 🤷♂️🤷♂️ But then there’s Not much to do in the winter months

Beautiful city! There is so much to do if you have the time.
Beautiful city! There is so much to do if you have the time. Walking around in the fall weather was enjoyable. Mackinac Brewhouse wine tasting was enjoyable because Stephanie was so nice. The lighthouse and walking path are a must see. The city is very clean. I could have stayed longer than my 4 days and found plenty to do or just relax and enjoy.

Awesome visit this year, during our 2022 visit most of the seasonal staff all over the city were rude and had bad attitudes , this year was opposite where staff members all over the city were outstanding , I already miss Nonnas pizza and my new favorite ice cream place The Sweet Spot on the main drag , the burgers we had at the White Buffalo were delicious, I had the bison burger and my wife had beef burger
,both were delicious but the bison one is better

I highly recommend the Labor Day Bridge Walk and Headlands International Dark Sky Park. A day trip to Mackinac Island or Sault Ste Marie is fun if you've never been, but maybe I've just stayed in Mackinaw City too many times, I couldn't find much I wanted to do. Tried to go to Tahquamenon Falls State Park in the UP, but road construction delays were such that I turned around and went back. Some of my favorite shops have closed, restaurant options and quality were less than my previous visits. The weather didn't help, it was the hottest, most humid Labor Day weekend anyone could remember, and then there were thunderstorms, wind, and rain the last 2 days of my visit.

I always enjoy a trip to the Straits!
I always enjoy a trip to the Straits! There are plenty of activities to do in Mackinaw City; we typically take a trip to Mackinaw Island. The only bad thing is that prices seem to be higher in Mackinaw City than in St. Ignace.
We did not pay for a balcony room but almost all of the rooms in the hotel face towards the lake so we received a lake view balcony room at the standard price. Hotel was close enough to reasonably walk to the ferry and restaurants nearby. Pretty good value for the location and size of the room. On Tuesday nights in the summer fireworks are shot off nearby and visible from hotel balcony or on the beach.
The room was clean and quiet, and the staff were very nice. It's an older hotel, but it is very clean and comfortable. The view of the bridge from our room was great. They allowed us to park in their lot before check-in, so we did not have to pay to park in the ferry parking lot. I would easily stay here again. It was a ten-minute walk to the ferry and downtown.
My room my room had a good view of the Mackinac Bridge, the Sunday fireworks, the beach and the Grand hotel on Mackinac Island. The room was pretty clean, the TV was pretty new and had a good selection of channels. The bed was comfortable and clean. The ac worked well but was located in the back of the room by the bathroom.
This Best Western offers up all of the amenities that make a vacation enjoyable. From the comfortable beds to the large TV screens (with full cable!) to the exercise facilities and pool, this hotel offers it all. As an added bonus, the location, on the beach, is amazing and gave us a memorable view of a thunderstorm.
Affordable lakefront location in Mackinaw City. It’s basic accommodation and reminds me of the motels we’d stay in the 90s when I was a kid. Nothing fancy, but has character. Balconies and beach are nice. Owner is a young women working hard to manage and take over the property. Very warm and welcoming.
The beds were very comfortable although the bedding needs updated. The location was perfect, within walking distance to most things/events. We were able to see the fireworks on Friday perfectly from our hotel. The pool and hot tub were also nice, but pool needed cleaning.
The beds were fairly comfortable. The hotel was a good location to surrounding attractions. The pool and water park were fun and was nice that we were able to use other location for the water parks as well.
The location to Mackinaw City and Mackinaw island is great. Cabins are super cute and right on the beach. Definitely would recommend for someone looking for a little more than just a hotel room.
We didn't like anything about the 'Great' Mackinaw 'Beachfront' Hotel. From what I saw and experienced briefly, it's the worst property--other than the run down motels--in Mackinaw City.
