Tried 2 different rooms and they both smelled terrible. (Stunk) We did not stay here and went to another hotel. They would not refund for the room we did not stay in. Needs paint, carpets, upgrades.
We both would have had migraines if we stayed.

The place stunk so bad you couldn’t sue it there. The tv wouldn’t work, it there was traces of bedbug blood on the mattress covers. We left after I saw that on the bed there was no way I was staying there…

Mount Vernon was fine - the Motel 6 was terrible.
Mount Vernon was fine - the Motel 6 was terrible. We should have paid extra for a nicer place but since we were just driving through we wanted to save money. We had supper at a BBQ place just up the road from the motel and the food and service were good. Bandana’s BBQ I believe was the name of it. The negative there was they were out of everything - no brisket, turkey, or ribs. Our choices were chicken and sausage. Then our waitress came back to say they were out of chicken! This was at 7 pm on a Monday night! And they were not even crowded - somebody dropped the ball in the planning department. Con: Horrible staff who apparently have little training on computer system - refused to try to find my reservation and then overcharged me when I left. Staff recommended a great place to eat within walking distance. Wasn't planning on staying in Mount Vernon but snowy/icy conditions made travel unsafe so we stopped early and found this gem. Very accommodating especially as it was the first night of a two week road trip.LisaUnited States of America

Sometimes when rooms are updated the hotel will not fix walls, etc. Everything about this room looked good. I slept well in the bed and the water stayed hot enough to finish my shower. :-) I was at the end of the hallway, which could have meant hearing foot traffic down the stairs, but the room was quiet. It was July in IL, so it was hot. The AC was already on in the room , set to 70* so I did not have to wait for the room to cool down.KKathyUnited States of America
