-The location was precious! The sea views from the room and the grounds are poster-worthy. Short walk to black sand beaches. Tidepools nearby. A tiny community that feels a world away from my daily cares.
-The innkeeper has done a great job furnishing each room with unique pieces. She is hospitable without being intrusive and gave us local insights on where to go and what to do.
-The bed was SO comfortable that after coming home and sleeping in my own bed, I immediately decided to buy a new bed!
-The room we stayed in (Queen Room) is like a studio apartment with full kitchen, living room area, bed area, and private patio / deck. Perfect for a couple's getaway into privacy and seclusion on the coast!
Features river, mountain or garden views in all rooms. The outdoor pool and spa is a short walk to our sister property, the KOA. The bar and restaurant is onsite.

The rocky headlands were very nice and I spent quite a bit of time just hanging out watching to waves and birds. Didn't see any whales, but was told they have been around.
The tide and waves were huge, so I didn't visit Black Sands Beach. I did spend some time on the south beach by the boat launch. It was nice, but people drive on it, which I don't care for.
Ate at four different restaurants and for the most part they were okay.

The drive is very, very windy and lots of potholes.
The drive is very, very windy and lots of potholes. Travel during daylight. Of course, the view was excellent! The apartment was cute but in need of maintenance. This was advertised as a 2 bedroom. It is a 1 bedroom with a sofabed in the living room. The bed frame was broken. The dishwasher didn't work. The kitchen soap dispenser was broken and they left us a used sponge. The patio furniture was very wobbly, like the screws we very loose. Didn't feel safe. The throw pillows looked so used. It's a shame as it looks like a nice place but they do not pay attention to maintenance. The coffee pot is nice. K-cup or drip.Make sure to bring coffee grounds and condiments. Lots of deer to watch. I did love being so close to the ocean and the many, many deer. Bring your own food as there are not a lot of choices for breakfast and lunch. Great coffee bistro called Surp Point and a nice little bait shop that has a little bit of everything. The people in these shops are very friendly. I would go back, but stay somewhere else.

Clean area, friendly people. Relaxing area.
Clean area, friendly people. Relaxing area. View of the ocean is almost EVERYWHERE. Can sit in your vehicle or use available picnic tables to enjoy the view. Lots of seals to enjoy watching & listening to them 'bark'.

Friendly people, safe to walk on the beach or streets.
Friendly people, safe to walk on the beach or streets. Since ALL the food is trucked in, its a bit pricey but all VERY good & tasty. You can go out on a Charter boat to catch your own fish or get fish caught daily at an eatery. You can walk to all the eateries or drive with plenty of parking. We enjoyed the ocean views and mountain views depending on which direction we looked. Being close enough to the ocean, could EASILY hear it from almost everywhere.

This is one of the most remote places I’ve visited but it was a fun and charming place. We went to the Gyppo Ale Mill, which was great and had a really nice patio plus good beer. There are not a ton of things to do if you’re looking for a lot of activities and only one beach is even safe for swimming, but if you’re looking for a place to escape to and relax, Shelter Cove is perfect!

We lucked out with 3 gorgeous days. Sunshine. Warmth. Wind.
We lucked out with 3 gorgeous days. Sunshine. Warmth. Wind. Cold. Ocean, ocean, ocean.
Not many people. Not much to do other than relax and walk on the beach.
Bring groceries, rent a place with a kitchen.
Total bliss.
