In an age where construction businesses are too expensive to hire, a very good handyman has kept this Motel in excellent condition, and it is very much appreciated.
Thanks of course to my good friend Tom Bodette!
Located along the Columbia River, off I-84, our newly renovated boutique, country chic hotel features gorgeous views of The Dalles' Lock & Dam.

It was okay, but limited. Why is butter always so cold you can't really use it on toast or waffles? The packaged eggs were horrible and not sure how old they were.

I like the area because there were shops and adequate parking. my main reason for visiting area was the big Goodwill industries store? Store was really big, very clean, well organized, very reasonable prices and helpful employees.
Also, The Dalles was halfway stop. On my way to Portland Oregon. Easy access off and on the freeway.

First time staying in The Dalles.
First time staying in The Dalles. We previously seemed to go by it on the way to another destination.
The power of the dam releasing water was impressive.
We had dinner at Casa El Mirador. Very good authentic Mexican food with a caring, attentive staff.
Breakfast was at The Riv Cafe which is in a wonderful 100 year old stone church. Everything on the menu is house made and delicious. The neighborhood is filled with gracious turn of the century houses.

The room didn't have any furniture to watch T.V. we had to use the chairs at the desk. The phone didn't work, vent in bathroom didn't work, no hair dryer, bathroom sink had black hair in it. The outside deck table was dirty and had an empty beer bottle. Coffee machine had not been cleaned out, it still had old coffee pod in it. No place to hang clothes, it only had a valet stand for a suitcase. Ironing board was propped up against the wall with the iron on the floor. Desk chair had a large dark stain on the cushion.
Overall it didn't appear that housekeeping had done a very good job.

What a great little town to stop in while visiting Portland and Gorge area. Has a retro vibe with plenty of little shops and food options. The Walldogs just completed a mural event there. you can walk the streets to get the history of the town by reading and viewing these fabulous murals. People are friendly. Music at many bars.

Lots of wine tasting. Several wonderful hikes but extremely hot temperatures affected the amount.
Beautiful views of the gorge within driving distance. Maryhill museum also had an eclectic variety of exhibits.

Our room was so smoky when walking in we asked for another.
Our room was so smoky when walking in we asked for another.
No linen for hideabed and after calling several times, we finally had to go get them as it was getting late.
Breakfast almost worthless. No coffee second day and minimal eggs and very few choices.
A notice as up about "the whole world is understaffed, plz be patient." That is a lame excuse. Perhaps you need to pay a better wage so people will apply there. You need to be more concerned with customer service. Not enough towels. Zero face cloths and no soap in bathroom area at all. Soap dispenser was very inconvenient. Get real soap.
I dislike making negative reviews but I think people need to know what to expect.
Room was not without issues, loose wall paper in one place, loose faucet handle, toilet seat a bit undersized for the bowl.
The staff were great, the room clean. The staff was accommodating. Parking was adequate and close to the room.
Nice towels and wash cloths, not paper thin like other hotels.
The room was quit even with I 84 close by. The only noise we heard was children running in the room above us.
I had to change my reservation and had trouble with Booking.com, so I contacted the hotel directly. The young woman who helped me was so accommodating and took care of everything I needed. When we arrived, she was on the front desk and remembered me. She was unfailingly friendly and helpful during our entire stay.
The room was comfortable and spacious, and provided what we needed.
Comfort Inn is a chain hotel. It was very clean and comfortable. It is great for a one or two night stay. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was standard for a chain hotel but the breakfast room was very well maintained and managed. The location was near a main highway which made it easy to fine and to exit. It offered good value and a comfortable stay.
Hotel manager accommodated our request to extend check out time as we had to get the car serviced before we could leave and offered us room upgrade while our car was being serviced. There is a small pool on site and my daughter loved it. Breakfast included waffles, cereals, fruits and oat meal.
The hotel was conveniently located right off the freeway, yet you could not hear freeway noise. Not once did we hear other guests throughout the night or next morning. We missed the breakfast, yet front desk staff brought oit coffee and cinnamon rolls for us, thank you
On a 6 night, 4 hotel/motel adventure from Oregon to Montana and back, this was the best stay. Really comfortable and surprisingly quiet for the location so close to the interstate (we were in the furthest building from the road).
In 20 years of traveling with our dogs, only one other hotel (at Wallowa Lake) provided doggy supplies to help keep the room clean and the dogs happy. Loved the shower, breakfast area, outdoor courtyard and staff!
Coffee was cold and breakfast buffet was not ready when we went to the breakfast area an hour after it was suppose to be available. Room was fine and dinner in the restaurant was very good.
