Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, Cloncaird Castle Estate Cottages is located in Maybole, 23 km from Ayr Racecourse and 32 km from Royal Troon. Absolutely every detail of our stay at Burnside Cottage exceed our expectations. The cottage was spectacular, the grounds were gorgeous, and the staff communicated with us exceptionally well at all phases of our trip.

Boasting lake views, Retreat at The Knowe Auchincruive Estate provides accommodation with patio, around 4.7 km from Ayr Racecourse. The property has river and garden views. Again a perfect 10 for all the right reasons: 1 Communications with host Ann(ie) was clear and prompt to get us to the right place at the right time. 2 The Estate is clearly visible from the road, but not close to the road: nice and quiet. 3 Enough and good parking places on the premisses. 4 The estate does not look very big for the outside but surely is! It has been transformed from a former separate house for preparing for hunting, to a stylish modern villa, with a tea terrace in a huge tree behind the house. 5 Annie took great care in decorating each room and terrace - each room had its own - with great care for consistent style. She loves tigers and in pictures and statues the animals are omnipresent; not the real ones by the way. 6 The kitchen is enormous, yet cosy and beautiful, very clean and great for having breakfast. 7 The garden is well maintained. 8 The bathroom is private and immaculate with thick towels 9 Excellent bed, beautiful and comfortable linnens 10 Across the street - less than a minute away - is de the Burns-Wallace memorial: a pile of stones near the river, just a modest staircase away, easy accessible, with poetry on the pile. 'Worth the detour'! What stands out most is Annies hospitality. With a nice Scottish touch, she is full of stories, advice for day visits, and prepares and serves breakfast the way you wish. For the cereal lover, at least 10 varieties. We choose eggs and croissants with coffee (and tested several cereals). Nothing is a problem for her. She showed us around in her beautiful Estate of which she is really proud, for obvious reasons. This is what we wanted and got plenty of it.

Set in Symington and only 13 km from Ayr Racecourse, Charming Barn Conversion on Private Estate offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property was near to the coast and the golf clubs. There is a local co-op walking distance from the cottage and the Wheatsheef restaurant which serves delicious food is also in the village. Milk, bread, butter and more was provided and an assortment of jam and cereals.

Noddsdale Estate is located 3.2 km from the centre of Largs in the countryside. The accommodation = includes self-catering apartments and a cottage. Hiking can be enjoyed nearby. The apartment is relatively large, light and furnished to a high quality. There is ample space to store clothes and food. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, and it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into what guests might actually need. The views from the living room are lovely. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. There are good walks nearby and it is an excellent base for exploring the region especially as as the Isles of Arran and Bute are near.

A 2000 acre country Estate in Hurlford, Carnell Country Estate offers accommodation 36 km from Glasgow. Free WiFi and free ample parking is available. The Bothy is small but perfectly formed! The location on the Carnell estate is gorgeous, quiet and peaceful, with birds to watch both out of the windows and on the numerous great local walks. Adrienne is an absolute star, coming to the rescue with good ideas for places to walk and even finding a vet when my dog was unwell.
