Hot only a fan. Loud bc of local visitors who came back at midnight with a bunch of kids and Left early. Made a lot of noise. Not the best.

I initially got the mixed shared room and there is NO AC. Not doable. 7 people in a room without a/c in a 34 Celsius El Salvador is just crazy.
They had a bathroom only for the girls and one for the guys, and that was amazing.
I went downstairs to eat at their little bar and even though everyone was amazing, the food was very pricey. $8 for a portion of 7 fried shrimps with no sides or anything. $6.50 for calamari with garlic which I thought it was a portion but instead was served on a slice of bread. Both very disappointing.
At the bar there was this super nice guy ( I assume he’s the owner) so he heard me complaining of how hot the room was and offered me to change for additional $6.
So I came to a female dorm with 3 beds and AC and that was heaven.
Their breakfast is amazing! Carmen was really lovely!
The hostel is beautiful and EXTREMELY CLEAN, im impressed!

The place was clean and comfortable, the ladies that host it were attentive and sweet and spoke both English and Spanish. The breakfast was very good and freshly prepared. Bed was comfy and the fan was pretty powerful. Location is great too, safe and about 15 minutes to center.

The staff are really nice. The hostel is next to the city center with the cathedral, bars, resturants and grocery stores. There is a good kitchen for cooking and it's a decently social hostel with people lounging around the main area. They have an arepa making class Mondays or tuesday nights? Good way to meet people. I got the private room and it was very spacious. Quiet at night and very safe. I would recommend staying here if you can .

The owner is extremely informative and helpful. Wonderful family, good breakfast and secure parking was a big plus. Popular with backpackers. Overall, the accomodation is a good value.

You see a lot of crap online of wether or not Santa Ana is safeS we had zero problems and never felt unsafe at all. Santa Ana and El Salvador in general have made huge inprovements in safety these last years. The town is nice , you'll strugle to find a building with more than 2 stories. It has preserved it's old world charm. Not supermany things to do or see but a good base to go exploring from

The road especially the side streets are horrible.
The road especially the side streets are horrible. Needs a traffic officer in all the main road that are under construction even at night. I closed my eyes hoping that my husband won’t hit a vehicle as he drove on tight traffic areas. I’m worried that our rental car won’t break down on the unpaved roads- lots of rocks and open pits.
The Santa Ana people are very helpful and kind.

I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral.
I really liked the Santa Ana Cathedral. As an amateur photographer, I also liked the colorful and dilapidated buildings around the cathedral. They made a great backdrop for street photography. Unfortunately, I spent only a day here so I was not able to see or do many things in the area. It is a great location to jump off the Ruta de las Flores though. I’m definitely happy that I decided to start the route here and not from San Salvador.

Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains.
Santa Ana is a medium sized city tucked in the mountains. The market is fun to explore and cathedral and theatre are gorgeous. Outside of town there are ruins, volcanoes, and a lake within an hour. The town doesn't have much tourism which gives it a more authentic feel, but also means you won't find many good restaurants around the square or at night.
I have to admit, it feels pretty fun to be staying in such a historic house. The rooms were massive (as I suppose one might expect, given it's presidential past) and there was a nice courtyard inside. It would have been hard to get much closer to all of the activity in Santa Ana's main square than this hostel and the area also felt surprisingly safe (even at night). Although we don't remember seeing it advertised, there was a kitchen available (though it was pretty dirty and not the most pleasant to cook in).
I absolutely loved my stay at this property. The staff, Victor and Diego, were exceptional. From the moment we landed to the end of our stay, the staff was attentive and proactive to making sure we were cared for. The views are stunning and the aesthetics of the property/ hotel room is very chic. I would stay here in again and every time, especially at the affordable price point. There also TV with great channels, hot water in shower, comfy beds, and great food!
Fantastic property. New, clean, spacious rooms, each has a fan and a tele. Very secure property, padlock for each room and gates into property locked. Well stocked kitchen, very clean. Chairs and hammocks outside to relax in. The staff were fantastic, super friendly and helpful. Good wifi. Good location - restaurant/bar attached, near local market, 15-20 minute walk to town centre, short walk to local bus to Santa Ana Volcano.
We had a wonderful time staying with Luis and his family. Luis is a warm and welcoming person who made our time in Santa Ana special. He arranged trips to the Santa Ana volcano, Lago de Coatepeque, and Rutas de las Flores for us, offered guidance on restaurants, and made delicious breakfasts. It felt like we were visiting family. The casa is centrally located, has comfortable common spaces, and clean rooms.
It’s a clean, safe and welcoming place. Easy to get on buses, which are only blocks away, to the lake or for the volcano hike after breakfast. There are good pupusarias around for any time of the day. Chocobanana from cross street grocery store is my new favorite. No matter it’s a short pass-through Santa Ana or taking breaks from a long journey, this place is a great choice.
very nice hosts!!! they are very kind and helpful. even let us wash all our clothing at their place at a reasonable price.
great value for money and decent breakfast.
Location is great for catching the bus to Santa Ana Volcano but a little out of the centre (15 minutes walking).
we were very happy to have the double room upstairs, which has a semi private bathroom.
Hotel Brunette offers a great location. Just a few blocks away from the historic downtown, it's a great spot to start off an earlier trip of Santa Ana in which you will enjoy all this town has to offer.
The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, you can never go wrong with "típico".
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the price is unbeatable.
Great new hostel with a lovely vibe, free coffee, spacious areas to hang out and a big kitchen. The owners are lovely locals who took us to a beautiful waterfall and on a coffee tour, all for free. It's located within walking distance to the local markets and bus stations, which is useful. I will be staying here again next time I go to Santa Ana :)
The staff were so friendly welcoming , smiling all time specially the guy for the breakfast has a big smile , his smile just built in , breakfast so good ,
Location great , clean ,
Please when you go to the Santa Ana volcano , take some extra water and food for the dogs all way at the top, I left 2 bowls there , hopefully still there .
the girl in reception speaks English well and very helpful! it saved us a lots of energy and time when we were following her instructions to take the buses from Santa Ana to San Salvador.
we’ve stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. the room for 2&3 nights was very nice. room was spacious and the shower has very good hot water.
My family and I loved this place. The staff is super friendly and approachable, they are waiting for you with a great smile. Which is something Salvadoran people are known for. The rooms were clean, and big as expected I would not say this is a hostel, it has everything of a hotel. We are excited to be back soon!
The staff was so friendly and helpful. Customer service was just amazing. The rooms were clean. The AC was great! And the breakfast was delicious every day. The location was perfect. There were many shops and restaurants around the hotel. The city center was also walking distance.
Luis, the host, was so patient with us and helped us with so many things. We got in very early after a overnight bus ride and he made us pancakes and coffee before we crashed. He goes above and beyond with all of the guests to make sure they have a fantastic time in Santa Ana.
Everything about this hostal is amazing!! The location, the views and the surrounding areas. Definitely check out the Volcano Santa Ana. Maxi was an amazing host and made sure we were always taken care off. Will definitely visit again, 2 nights was just not enough!
Perfect location and price point to tour Lago Coatepeque, El Tazumal, Cerró Verde, Volcán Ilametepec (Santa Ana Volcano) and Salto de Malacatiupán all within 30-60 minutes away from the property. The host was very attentive. Def recommend!
Centrally located in Santa Ana! Staff are great. There are motorbike and scooter rentals for a good value on site. Hostal has lots of communal areas to chill and a kitchen in a decent state. The hostal is overall good for the low price.
