Loved my stay. The hotel is older, and that is part of its charm. The staff was very nice... felt like they really cared about our stay.

We took our emotional support dog and her sister. They refuse to pay for emotional support and animals and we were so looking forward to watching a movie from our room but were sent to a complex where if we had wanted to watch a movie we had to drive. We had other guests staying there for the same function but they weren’t punished for having their pets with them. If undisciplined, rude children and their parents are allowed why can’t well behaved support animals. I was born and raised in Monte Vista but I’ll never stay there again

Room was clean - a/c was nice and cool and the shower water was hot. The room was spacious and had a nice size fridge. Keurig in room for coffee was nice. Plenty of towels and toiletries provided. Breakfast was great - lots of choices from hot to cold, fresh fruit etc. Pool was closed bc we arrived during renovations.

We only stayed for one night but I liked that the room we stayed in, didn't have any odors, like cigarette smells, or humidity smells. The room was very clean. But the thing I liked the most was that Monte Vista Movie Manor, is away from major streets, so noise was not an issue there during the night. The ladies in charge were very friendly and respectful. The morning we checked out, we showed up to the dinning area very close to closing time, but the lady in the front office (and I don't remember her name, I am sorry) was very kind to let us have breakfast, even offer to cook more eggs for us! She didn't rush us out at any moment, so we were able to eat our breakfast well past the closing time, so I thank her for this kind gesture.

Came for the Crane Festival but weather kept the cranes away. Enjoyed the artisan market and touring the surrounding area. Also made a trip to the Great Sand Dunes NP. The people in town and at the hotel were nice and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the small town feel. It was a good choice other than Alamosa just down the road. I enjoyed my stay.

We went to the 40th Sandhill Crane Festival which was very well run and organized and we had a wonderful time there. The town is cute; they ( Main Street) are trying to revive it and the little main square is good for food and drinks and quite festive with outdoor lights and street seating. It was looking lovely for the festival and very clean. Lots of crane street art which was lovely to look at. Everything is central to where the Festival was held. The mountains are beautiful and the skies amazing. Lots of bird life. Lovely friendly people. The old historic hotel was recommended to me, and was very reasonably priced, but we did not enjoy our stay there. It is a lovely old building and will need a lot of work to get it back to its former glory days. A good clean is needed and some old decorations could be taken down to improve the general look inside. The very old elevator is out of order; the bar and restaurant. were closed. ( which I did know about before my stay). A simple breakfast is served and included in the room price. The owner is very nice and helpful. Safe parking at the back of the hotel.

Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Believe it or not this small mountain town was open and wore masks. We were in Florance/Mesa Verde the week before and the difference was 1900s vs 2020s! For real tho!

Monte Vista is in a great location, with easy access to several wildlife refuges, the Great Sand Dunes National Park, and many historical places. In the spring it is a great place to view the Sand Hill Cranes.
We were met by a wonderful owner who clearly is passionate about her hotel. The hotel has alot of old time charm. The reception and communal areas are lovely and show the history or the hotel. We booked 2 budget queen rooms, we were informed the rooms were a little on the small side, however we found them perfectly clean and adequate for our needs.
All of the rooms are beautifully decorated and very cozy, the front desk is always very accommodating, and welcoming. I have yet to find a motel anywhere that has such a comfortable and clean environment for this price. When traveling to this area for work, the only reason we might not stay at this hotel is if there are no rooms available.
Monte Vista is a good location for exploring the San Luis Valley. The motel is affordable, pet friendly, and clean. The beds were comfortable. Parking is right in front of the room. It’s a good value for a short stay or for those not needing much in the way of amenities.
Location. This hotel is located in a very small and quiet town, about an hour drive from Great Sand Dunes National Park.
Beds. Very comfy.
Breakfast. A few choices but everything was clean and well taken care of.
Staff. Everybody in the staff was friendly.
It was a cute older hotel, very unique. It is older and not your typical hotel interior design but I think it made it nice and quaint. Our room was clean and tidy and the beds were very comfortable!
Hotel was clean, great shower after a day at the sand dunes. Lady at the front desk was very friendly and showed us how to work the elevator and to our room.
