    Great experience!

Great experience! The whole trip is very well organized and staff provided interesting information about the glaciers, the explorers and the environment. Buy a pass for the National park online to save time and have your vaccination card (or record ready). Be kind to the staff @ Starbucks - they are understaffed and crazy busy, yet cheerful.

A great place to stay half way between Jasper & Banff.

A great place to stay half way between Jasper & Banff. Stunning scenery. Also the sky walk is well worth visiting. This can only be accessed by bus from Columbian Icefield visitor centre & hotel.

    This is breathtaking place!!

This is breathtaking place!! But at the same time gets you really sad to see those ice marks going higher up every 10-20 years. Highly recommend taking a bus tour getting you right on the ice! It takes about 3 hours, so plan accordingly.

Too expensive, plus waiting time of three hours to get on a snocoach. Option without the glass-bottomed skywalk was not possible. This skywalk is new and it’s a tourist trap. The worst thing is that you have to pay for it if you want to get on a snocoach. Very disappointing.

Make sure to check if you need a National park Pass.

Make sure to check if you need a National park Pass. Make sure you don't drive over the way to slow; 90 km (not miles) limit on the freeway 93, because on every corner there is police checking speed and issuing tickets. Definitely not anymore what is used to be. Services and hotels are way too overpriced.

We were blown away by the stunning beauty here and decided to drive 'The Icefields' both ways which meant a different view on our return journey. The fact that we drove ourselves meant we could stop and enjoy a picnic wherever we liked along the lakes or rivers. Download the offline 'Gypsy Guide App' prior to leaving home as it provides invaluable information enroute with often humorous comments. We also had the Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper Gypsy Guide Apps so it was like having our own personal guide on board.
