Hotel in Rye
Links Lodge at The Dunes features a restaurant, bar and shared lounge in Rye. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar. Links Lodge is situated at The Dunes Golf Links, one of Australia's top public golf courses. The lodging is located on the Mornington Peninsula, where several high quality public golf courses are located. I started playing golf at The Dunes in 2007 on my first trip to Australia and have regularly played there on many trips. The stylish rooms offer good space and have modern shower and plumbing fixtures. The nearby clubhouse offers a menu with good breakfast and lunch. Golf tee times can be reserved, unless the stay is booked at times when course is closed to public play, such as when large multiday tournaments are held. I've found it possible on most trips to the area to get tee times at The Dunes. I usually stay at a small cottage nearby but this time it was unavailable part of my stay. I would consider the Links Lodge at The Dunes for another stay on future visits. There are in room safes offer an extra layer of security for those concerned about safeguarding travel documents. The lodging is fairly new and opened in the last few years. It is separated from the main clubhouse by a short distance and each unit has parking which is separate from common parking areas. My room was a two minute walk to the restaurant and clubhouse.

Fingal
The hotel was our overnight stay on our trip down the Mornington Peninsula (We were not there for the golf.) The room was quiet, well presented, clean and had a pleasant outlook over the golf course. The bed was comfortable. The staff at reception and in the restaurant at breakfast were cheerful and helpful. While the location could not be described as convenient, it is within short travelling distances to other sites, particularly the ferry at Sorrento which we caught the next morning.
Everything about The Sands was exceptional. The facility seems to be very new and the room was stayed in was excellent. The staff were helpful and professional. The gym looked like it is hardly used, so all the equipment looks brand new. The location was a good base for exploring the Mornington Peninsula and we were very glad we stayed there. We received vouchers for a complimentary drink at the hotel next door, where we had dinner both nights.
