Lovely staff, excellent service, beautiful location, warm and cozy atmosphere, interesting backstory of the property, good lasagne (we ate at the hotel, not the restaurant), Ingeborg went above and beyond, was fun to talk with and gave us some nice suggestions regarding activities for our next stay. My husband and I definitely enjoyed our stay.

Hotel Orchidee is situated in the centre of Aalter. They provide modern rooms with a buffet breakfast and free WiFi throughout the building. It was a sumptuous breakfast and the receptionist was very friendly. I hope I can stay there again next time.

O Hotel Prélude está situado perto da Auto-Estrada E40/N44, a 25 minutos de carro da histórica Bruges e a 30 minutos de carro de Ghent e da Praia do Mar Norte. We arrived much later than expected, still our host was there waiting for us with a smile. Everything was very clean and we had all comfort needed. Many places to park, nice terrace to enjoy the fresh air and relax a bit. Woke up with a nice and more diverse than expected breakfast. The host is super nice and takes care of all guests. Very easy to get to the location and really good if you want to be in the Brugge area. Really recommend.

The owners have got everything spot on in setting up this purpose-built B&B. Communication of details prior to arrival was excellent. We arrived late in the evening in the dark and rain, but pulling into the tastefully lit and very neat driveway / parking area gave an immediate sense of relaxation. Entry to both the gated drive and apartment was by keypad, so all very straightforward despite the late hour. The apartment was spotlessly clean, with every single aspect so well designed and carefully thought through. Efficient air conditioning, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, impressively well-equipped kitchen (hob, double oven, large fridge, dishwasher, all the crockery and utensils you could need for extended self-catering), and copious cupboard space throughout. It has its own patio area with a pleasant view. The location is peaceful. Ghent itself is readily accessible, but for me the rural area to the north was more of an attraction. Quiet, flat roads in pristine condition made for a very enjoyable early morning run. We were there for only a weekend, but I would have happily stayed much longer.
