Located in the village of Gibswil in the Canton of Zurich, the Gibswilerstube is right along the Way of St. James. It features a restaurant and offers rooms with free Wi-Fi. The outside playground for kids is amazing, be prepared to pay for some attractions but it’s totally fine. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very nice.

Located in Fehraltorf in the Zurich Oberland region, Gasthof zum Hecht occupies a historic building renovated in 2013 to 2015. The property was very clean. The room was perfect.

The Wassberg hotel is situated in quiet surroundings in Forch close to Zurich, and offers you exquisitely designed rooms with nice views as well as fresh seasonal cuisine. location, very helpful and friendly staff, great breakfast and dinner, very clean.

Hotel Hirschen Hinwil features a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Hinwil. This 3-star hotel offers room service and free WiFi. The hotel has family rooms. This was a room only booking. Breakfast is available in the hotel's restaurant for an extra charge. As I am familiar with the location, I knew there were a couple of cafes nearby, so declined the breakfast option. Guests do however qualify for a free coffee in the morning, but I didn't take advantage of this. The Hirschen has a very good restaurant, and although I didn't eat there this time, I know it from the past. The Gasthof Hirschen is a charming establishment in the middle of the small town of Hinwil. A short walk to the railway station, shops, cafes etc. My room was on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. I had a very comfortable twin room to myself, with a good sized bathroom and efficient shower. Quite spartan in decor, but with TV, bottled water, and Swiss chocolates and biscuits provided. The whole establishment was spotlessly clean. The rooms are not serviced if the duration of stay is less than a certain time, and I was only staying four nights so did not qualify for room servicing. However, the housekeeping staff were around and about during the day and checked with me if there was anything I needed. I asked if there was any chance of more chocolate, she giggled and came back with a huge handful, which was sweet in every sense of the word. For Switzerland, I found the Gasthof Hirschen to be very good value for money, was ideally placed for the purpose of my visit, and I will definitely choose it again for future visits.
