Marisa and her Cousine could compete for Michelin star :). If you are staying in Casa Marisa or not you should get a meal there. It is not the cheapest one, but it is definetely the best one on the Island.

Facing the beachfront, Hotel Savana offers 3-star accommodation in São Filipe and features an outdoor swimming pool, garden and terrace. right in the centre of town the location is wonderfull. the old architecture with high ceilings is very nice, and great ocean views across to Brava. best of all are the excellent staff, who, in our case of an emergency went out of their way to help us - really left a lasting feeling of warmth with us

Edificio Cosec Hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Cova Figueira. The staff especially the owner Toni were so helpful in arranging transfers and organising our stay. The room was very nice and the swimming pool was great. The evening we stayed there coincided with an amazing event celebrating Women of Cape Verde with a banquet, disco and excellent live musicians. Toni helped us plan our walking tour to Alcatraz and Faja which was excellent. The hotel's location is good if you are planning hikes in the area (which is cooler than most of the island) such as around Estancia Roque and along the coast. The paths are well marked. Finally Toni made sure we got back to Sao Filipe ok when the normal aluguers werent't running as it was a holiday. I wish them all the lu ck in the world in making the hotel a success.

Boasting a restaurant, bar and views of mountain, Txon DFogo Pensão Restaurante is set in São Filipe, 500 metres from Sao Filipe Beach. Great location. Walking distance to stores. It can get a little noisy if your room is facing the entrance, but it’s not too crazy.
