The rooftop sauna with terrace was a special highlight. Very nice, plentiful breakfast buffet. The metro station is directly accessible through the same building as the hotel, so it is extremely easy to get around quickly. The big mall next door is also very helpful.

Housed in a converted prison from 1837, this atmospheric hotel is found on Katajanokka Island in central Helsinki. The hotel is charming - a tastefully converted prison! The room we had was perfect - everything worked! The hotel is perfectly situated for the Viking Line terminal and is right on the number 4 tram route which makes getting into the city centre very easy (although this is a very pleasant 15 minute walk if you don't want to use the tram). The breakfast offering is superb and the dinner menu is excellent with freshly cooked and well presented dishes. The staff are very welcoming and exceptionally helpful.
