A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. Everything. Usually stay in Keswick town but decided on a change and so glad we ended up here. The hotel is decorated in perfect style, quite decadent, lovely snug and lounge area to see the views. Walks close by and Keswick ten minutes away by car. The hotel is dog friendly and there were a lot of dogs. Doesn't matter to me but to anyone not that keen the dogs go in the dining areas as I know friends of mine would not stay there for this reason , but a perfect spot for the many dog lovers. Lovely to lay in bed and have a beautiful view 😊my room was smallish but honestly big enough as really, how big does one need? 🤷🏼♀️

Keswick
The hotel and grounds were far more picturesque than we anticipated and it is perfectly situated in Keswick with an easy walk into town and to the start of most walks and Derwentwater. Our room was lovely and although not modern and up to date perfectly reflected the building and its surroundings and everything worked and was clean. The restaurant for breakfast was great and there was more than enough options with a lovely view across the lawn.
Portinscale
Cottage is in a perfect position for short walk to Keswick enjoying r a longer walk round the lake where you get to Keswick to.The catbells are within easy walking. Lovely farmers arms pub in the village for a meal also Derwentwater Hotel we didn't eat here but had a wee drink.Chalet cafe in village for lunch or meals until 5pm lovely scones .while on the walk round the lake you come to Mary mount Hotel had lovely lunch in there.
The hotel is in a great location, with amazing views looking over Derwentwater and the surrounding mountains. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was really nice and clean. The breakfasts were very good and the choice was great. The hotel is also dog friendly as are most of the places we visited in Keswick We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would come back again.
The staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival, and the hotel itself was beautifully looked after. I was kindly given an upgrade to a bigger room (East Turret) which was really warm and comfortable with stunning views of both the mountains and Derwentwater. Breakfast was included in the room price and was delicious, set me up very well for a full day of hiking!
I have stayed at The Derwentwater a few times and whilst it is not the fanciest hotel in the area it is generally quite reliable. The location is great, and you can walk down to the lake shore directly from the hotel garden which is lovely for a pre-dinner stroll. The staff are generally helpful and friendly.
Keswick
Great views of the Derwentwater lake and very courteous staff. The breakfast was excellent . Matt/Jason/Karen / Ian and others are so welcoming and made us feel at home. Rooms were comfy and spacious with a nice lake view. If we get back next time we will definitely stay at crow park again.
Very comfortable hotel. Nice and clean with lots of places to sit and relax. Food very well presented and tasty. Staff very friendly. We had our dog with us who was made very welcome! Great location for the Derwentwater walks.
Excellent location - right in the middle of lovely Keswick and a short walk from beautiful Derwentwater. Great breakfasts which we enjoyed in the conservatory.
Parking at back to unload bags in pouring rain. Extra large comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good, so much variety, loved it. Discounted parking was a treat. Light bright bedrooms. Thank you
Staff very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent and the breakfast was excellent, no onsite parking but the central carpet is just behind the hotel and only a minutes walk.
This was a very comfortable place to stay. We stayed in 6 different locations on a 2 week tour of England and frankly this was the best bed of any place we stayed. The room was so comfortable. Loved our stay in this recently renovated hotel. We hiked in Whinlatter Forest and explored Keswick, The Ruddings was situated perfectly in the middle. The staff were very helpful, food was delicious, and as someone traveling in a car, there was plenty of parking!
The rooms and beds are above the average British standard and the food is way more healthy than the average British standard, so that’s good. If you are willing to pay a pit more per room, I guess it‘s worth it.
Breakfast was perfect for the morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
