The attached restaurant had delicious food. We actually ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The rooms looked like they had just been updated. The pub was a gem you wish to find. A proper pub. Open fire, flagstone floor, good food and wine and comfortable rooms. The best were the staff. Knowledgeable, welcoming and they gave my daughter and myself the feeling of being genuinely welcomed. The room was large and a proper twin share room.

Location was perfect for exploring Hadrians Wall and Vindolanda. Checkin was easy and the manager even assisted with carrying my parents bags upstairs. Our family room was large and comfortable (travelled with adult son) and my parents room was changed to be closer to ours, which was much appreciated. Off street parking was also provided. We dined at Zaki indian restaurant, food and service was excellent. Breakfast exceeded expectations with a variety of cereals, fruits and a full cooked breakfast. I would highly recommend staying at the Centre of Britain Hotel.
