Situated in El Remate, 37 km from Tikal National Park, Hotel Gringo Perdido features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a garden. We have loved every moment in the hotel Gringo Perdido. Staff was super accommodating. We have arrived.witha late plane to Flores and one staff member (Chepe, who has done everything to make us enjoy our staying) was there to allow us to have dinner, even if the kitchen was already closed. Breakfast was very good and energetic enough for some great walking among the Mayan temples. Estuardo, the owner, welcomed us the morming following our arrival and was great to talk to him. We have enjoyed the peace, the nature, the sense of calmness and balance that El Gringo Perdido spread. I recommend an early wake up to fully appreciate the beauty of the place. We'll be back for sure.
Posada del Cerro

Set in El Remate, 35 km from Tikal National Park, Posada del Cerro offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The place is away from the village in a lush greenery and we loved it! Service was super friendly and fast. They even helped us with the transfer to Tikal and back. Our double room was simple but big, with a big terrace with chairs and a hammock to relax and enjoy the greenery / to read etc. Bed was comfortable and had a decent mosquito net. They have a decent menu so we seldom ate breakfast there or had some drinks. The hotel is a walking distance from El Remate so we also walked to visit some restaurants or tienda for some snacks when we wanted to. My favourite thing for sure was the fact it's a little away and in the greenery, little hidden gem. Because it's close to the bioreserve, it was wonderful to hear the sounds of nature and especially have our first experience with howler monkeys howling 🙂 I would recommend it for sure.

Breakfast is very good and we had 2 delicious dinners as well. The staff is very nice and we had a great bird watching walk with Oscar. We can definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back.

This elegant hotel is located within a tropical estate, on the edge of the Petenchel and Monifata Lagoons. We loved the nature escape to Villa Maya; after a couple of days of being in Panajachel. Mostly soaking up nature, bird life, and howling monkeys. Perfect place to relax! We went on the excursion to Tikal, arranged with the hotel, which was perfectly organized. Highly qualified guide, the most comfortable car we had in Guatemala, beautiful lunch with fresh towels to clean up after the jungle walking, and most of all, the best walk through the Tikal ruins! The guide will take you on secret trails and tell you about birdlife, animal life, + the history of Tikal. Amazing experience! Our highlight in Guatemala. Celebrate with the highly recommended Parilla / barbeque on the restaurant menu! Villa Maya is great value for money and is a very comfortable stay in Guatemala. Also the Best breakfast!
