Pet friendly and I had the privilege of an early morning meeting with a kiwi (BIRD) who took advantage of a left over dog biscuit left out the night before🤦😁 all in all little Wanganui is one stop away from the end of the road in theses parts but holds its own none the less.

Excellent value. Comfy, clean and spacious with wonderfully friendly staff. The bar and pool room are warm and welcoming and the meals in the restaurant are delicious! Fabulous value for money. We will definitely stay here anytime we come back to karamea.

The Old Vicarage menawarkan akomodasi di Reefton. Guest house ini juga menyediakan WiFi gratis dan parkir pribadi gratis. Hands down, the Old Vicarage is the absolute most enjoyable BnB we have ever stayed in. It's very spacious. It's NOT a typical kiwi motel (which we had been frequenting around the south island til then). It has an old, comfortable "relaxing in your slippers" kind of feel to it. The beautiful polished wood (pine?) flooring was a joy to behold. We arrived quite early, because of rain which forced us to decide to skip a portion of our planned route. As soon as we got there I thought, this is a LOT better than what we had planned. We started a fire in the welcoming fireplace, using the firewood supplied. We scoured the library and the movie collection, and found that we really needed to stay for about 3 months, there were so many books and movies we wanted to read/watch. The gardens are lovely (a tad less so in the rain, but still...). Overall, it felt more like home than home does. We really loved this place. Can't say that about most motels.

Feel privileged to have stayed in such an interesting house with a history. Only stayed one night but would have been perfect for longer. Generous provisions for breakfast.
