This is a very small hotel (only 3 rooms) which only adds to its charm. Its location in the centre of Picton is an additional benefit as it is only a couple of minutes' walk from shops and nearby facilities.The old world style of decor ,the large rooms which are spotless and supremely comfortable has to be experienced. The restaurant is closed for evening meals , but the welcome touch of a wine and cheese plate is a unique touch. Breakfast is offered and sets you up for the day ahead. I would love to stay here again.

We stay here every time we come to Picton. It has location location location! It also has lovely comfortable spacious clean rooms. The breakfast is generous and delicious and the staff are always delightful.

El The Portage, situado a solo 15 minutos en barco de Picton, está temporalmente fuera de la carretera y ofrece habitaciones con balcón o patio privado y vistas impresionantes a los Marlborough... The hotel is under new management and I could not fault it. The staff were welcoming, attentive and super friendly. The reception and restaurant area looked newly renovated and was modern and fresh. My meal in the restaurant was very tasty. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I slept well. And the General Manager very kindly dropped me back to the start of the QC track in the morning. Plus the sunset view from the bar is breathtaking. Don’t be put off By the bad reviews - the new management seem to be doing a fantastic job!

Was a flying stay.. arrived late .. left early. But the place is excellent. Very clean and all round good quality.

The house was newly renovated and just beautifully done. We had just about anything we could have wanted in the house, private parking, space for all four of us. Since we had four, we had both floors. The downstairs patio was nice, but the upstairs balcony was a dream! Perfect for sitting and enjoying the view. A shirt walk over the scenic marina bridge takes you right to the shops and restaurants. We wished we were staying more than two nights!

Such a lovely place! Clean, well-furnished and comfy cottage. Quiet and peaceful environment away from the town centre yet conveniently near enough. Tracey and Colin are superb hosts, made us feel right at home, giving us useful tips on things to do and see. Wonderful to interact with their resident pets - dogs, chickens and horses. Highly recommended!!
