Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, Denchys B&B is situated in Matamata. The property has mountain and garden views. It was perfect for what we needed. It was very straightforward. We flew into Auckland that morning and drove to Hobbiton. After our tour we drove to Matamata, grabbed food at DK's Burger place on the main Street and then found Denchy's. It was easy to get into and when we went in we were very pleased. It was nicely decorated, had a comfortable bed, a counter, small fridge, sink, cutlery, dishes, etc. The bathroom is very adequate. Everything was spotless.

Located just 39 km from Hamilton Gardens, Hills Vista Lodge provides accommodation in Matamata with access to a garden, barbecue facilities, as well as full-day security. Charming Bach house on a farm 5 min from Hobbiton. Very well stocked and the host was so friendly and accommodating. Best of all was Ludo the dog who decided we were part of the family. Very charming!

Walnut Lodge B&B offers accommodation in Matamata. Every room at this bed and breakfast is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. The studio was super cosy, new and sparkling clean! Surrounded of cows and nature. Absolutely amazing and so much attention to details. We felt like at home. The bed was super comfortable and we slept like babies Breakfast was taken the evening before with homemade bread, fruit, fresh juice etc.. Highly recommended!

Central Motor Lodge is located on Morrinsville's main street within 250 metres of local shops, restaurants and bars. Accommodation options include spacious rooms and stylish suites with modern décor. The room was spacious. Defined lounge and tv area, dining, bed and kitchen. Bathroom was also large with plenty of room. Friendly staff.

Located in the centre of Matamata, this motel offers a swimming pool and a hot tub. All rooms offer a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Everything!! It absolutely exceeded my expectations for a motel. The room was perfect and there was 5 of us. (3 Adults, 1 teen and 3yr old) The BEST sleep I've had in a very long time. Comfy soft beds with lots of warm bedding. It literally has Everything you need. The play area outside is so good for the kids. The free spa was perfect. The man running the place is lovely. Can't fault it.
