Location just 10 minutes from Hobbiton, surroundings, nice and quiet. And the place itself? Gorgeous! Really spacious, equipped with anything you can think of, Gerda provided us with variety of food options like eggs, homemade bread and jam, yogurts and drinks in the fridge. But most importantly the vibe of the place was great. We felt like home and wished to stay there for longer. Highly recommended. And as for the navigation someone complained about- no issue at all. GPS and also Gerda’s description you receive in advance is accurate!

A Place in the Paddock is situated in Matamata and offers a garden. Guests staying at this holiday home have access to a fully equipped kitchen and a terrace. The location was on a farm property just a couple of kms from Matamata. The view was stunning! It was was peaceful, lots of games, books.

What a beautiful place to stay. All the craftsmanship in the house is lovely to see and experience through the story's of the great hosts Jen and Dewi. They where very welcoming. The room was really nice tidy and clean, also the bathroom. We joined for diner with another guest and Jen and Dewi. This was really nice and relaxing. Great food and vibe all evening, with lovley conversations about similarities and differences between Dutch and Kiwi culture/life. We really enjoyed our stay and should actually stayed 2 or 3 nights. To explore the area a bit more. It is really a nice get a way place, we loved it! We will be back some day

Walnut Lodge B&B offers accommodation in Matamata. Every room at this bed and breakfast is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. The breakfast was really nice. Tasty jam, homemade bread with fresh fruits. Rooms are also big and clean with nice view. Hosts are so nice. Free pickup. Helped us a lot. We feel very warm welcomed. After check out, dropped us off at the place we supposed to go. I will definitely choose again when I visit next time. A pleasant journey with comfortable stay.

Central Motor Lodge is located on Morrinsville's main street within 250 metres of local shops, restaurants and bars. Accommodation options include spacious rooms and stylish suites with modern décor. The room was spacious. Defined lounge and tv area, dining, bed and kitchen. Bathroom was also large with plenty of room. Friendly staff.

Built in 1977, The Nunnery is located in central Te Aroha and offers a guest lounge and a shared patio with BBQ facilities. It is a 2-minute walk from the Te Aroha Mineral Spas. Nothing extra that we didn't need. The shared area was very welcoming and had a lot of quality resources for planning ahead and looking up NZ details, plus facilities for making coffee or eating food bought in.

Located in the centre of Matamata, this motel offers a swimming pool and a hot tub. All rooms offer a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. I was arriving at midnight 1.30 am, but no worries, de man of the motel was very friendly and takes time to help me. Absolutely good experience!! Also the accommodation was the best of my trip in 5 weeks!
