Located in Greytown in the Wellington Region, 15 km from Martinborough, The White Swan Hotel features a sun terrace and views of the garden. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar and restaurant. The best hotel on our road trip so far. We were upgraded to suites which were lovely. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us.

Located in Featherston, The Royal Hotel Featherston - Boutique Hotel features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. This place is really something special. Fabulous interiors with all comforts and many extra touches. Food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. Loved it.

Originally built in 1882, this charming hotel has been lovingly restored to its former glory and features an elegant restaurant and bar. Each room includes satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. Liked it so much we extended our stay. Started out at the Petit Hotel and moved into the Main Hotel after a few nights. Both were fantastic. Went to the restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner and all were great. Really central, we went for a wine tour (bike rentals are half a block away), played a round of golf (5 min drive away).

Wineries are plentiful and close by and the area is flat so taking one of the Swan House loaner bikes is a nice way to explore. There is also a pedi-cab rental in the center of town. Exceptionally clean! Quiet for sleeping. Also very dark. Patio area is large and shared. “Double or Twin Room” (#3) is on the end and thus has lots of windows and only one shared wall. Owner’s welcome was genuine and appreciated. Continental breakfast included: coffee (instant or n espresso), teas (10 different varieties!), yogurt, cereal, toast (Honey, Marmite, Peanut Butter or 3 varieties of fruit jam), fruit cup, milk, and juice. It’s all in the room so you can eat what and when you want. No cooking facilities in the rooms but that was as expected/made clear in the listing. If saving money thru self-catering is your aim you can manage well enough with the provided continental breakfast, picnic lunch, and a take-away dinner.
