From the moment we arrived at Hotel Republica we felt welcomed despite being hot and dishevelled from a big day of hiking. This was one of the most friendly receptions we have had during our two weeks in Portugal. Nothing was too much trouble, including room service provided early from the Restaurant Menu when the All Day Menu was not available. We requested an extra night and again, no problem at all. Breakfast options at the restaurant were exceptional and the service, equally as good. The coffee machine in the room was awesome, the beds luxurious and the bathroom stylish and clean. The minibar was well stocked and an abundance of room snacks were available.

The hotel was beautiful. Our room was fantastic and wifi was strong. I loved the shower and that the toiletries were provided in larger permanent bottles, not the tiny take away bottles (much better for the environment). The staff were all very friendly.

Featuring a bar and a terrace, Sapientia Boutique Hotel is set in Coimbra, 1969 ft from S. Sebastião Aqueduct and 1312 ft from University of Coimbra. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Sapientia Boutique Hotel. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was very large and the bed was comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. WiFi worked well. We had a wonderful, delicious dinner outside on the terrace! There is a rooftop patio with really incredible views. The location is very convenient to tour the Coimbra University! If you drive to Coimbra, make sure you get good directions to get out of the old part of the town. The streets are narrow, many are one-way, and are difficult to navigate. Don’t rely on Google maps! We loved our stay here and would stay here again!

It’s a large family managed hotel, with a familiar sense. It has a lovely spacious sitting room by reception and a working lift to get you to your room. The cleaning staff are very friendly and the hotel owner is a legend. It’s located right in the middle of Luso centro so all is in reach. The bedroom has good air conditioner which is brilliant for the hot days. This hotel has loads of potential and I know it’s being improved each year.

We were greeted by Bruno who went out of his way to make sure our check in process was as good as it can be, and in general every staff member we encountered was nice. The place is absolutely gorgeous, from the dome itself inside and out and to the other facilities like the dining room which served wonderful food both for breakfast and dinner. The place has a lovely pool in which we swam twice in our one night stay - worth it even though the water is far from warm :) Definitely recommend

it is beautifully located with a beautiful pool, and a skate bowl in a forest - a place to feel at home. The kitchen is lovely and invites you and the rest of the people to work, rest, have dinner, etc. We had a great stay and met some lovely people in the house. Also, something to point out is the good smell in the surroundings and the quiet doors, like that we did not weak anyone up.
