We spent a total of 4 days in Taipei area; 2 in Xinbeitou and 2 in downtown Taipei. We joined a half day guided bus tour of the city which was very good, our guide, Thomas, spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable. Travelling by MRT was great, quick, easy and inexpensive. Taipei is very spread out so it is not easy to walk. We went to Shilin night market - very impressive. We also liked Tower 101 and the Din Tai Fung restaurant!

The staff speak English well and the customer service is top notch. Location is great very close to major shopping centers, transit is within 5-10 mins walk. Room is modern, well equipped, spacious and clean; building is new and solid withstood a 7.6 magnitude earthquake during our stay. Pool is also a nice feature over looking the 101 landmark, during night time is a spectacular view. They have a reception downstairs and are able to hold your lugguage until check-in time for those that arrived early.

I have to start with an unfortunate event that turned out to be very fortunate for us: we stayed in this hotel at the time of the 7.4 earthquake in early April. The event itself was absolutely scary, but looking back we were very thankful to stay at this place instead of anywhere else. The building was all moving and shaking, but there was no damage at all thanks to the construction of the building. The staff was very nice and helpful at all times. The building is beautiful, including the interior and the room! We absolutely loved the white colours in the room. The room was spacious and equipped with everything, with a nice walk in closet, an office corner and a huge bathroom (we loved the Japanese style toilet :) ). The location is great, there are two shopping malls in a walking distance, with some nice restaurants.
