Situated in Mammoth Lakes, California, the Empeiria High Sierra Hotel is located 8km from Mammoth Mountain and 15km from the Mammoth Yosemite Airport. spacious and super clean!! you open the room door and you can smell the cleanliness - no joke! Most comfortable bed during our trip. Hairdryer and iron available on the room. It was our 7th hotel during the trip and the only one offering a regular kettle in the room which was great. Super friendly man at the front desk upon check out (smiling and helpful at 6am!!)

From £101 per nightI have stayed at the Portal for over thirty years when I go on fishing trips to the eastern Sierra. Lata, the owner, is warm and friendly. The motel is conveniently located, fairly affordable, and offers great views of Mt. Whitney from the parking lot. There is a small refrigerator in the room to keep my beer cold and a small freezer part in the refrigerator to freeze my trout before the long trip back home through the desert. There is a little coffee pot in the room, with coffee, which is something I don't find in the Las Vegas hotels.

One of the best stays during our roadtrip. Very charming locations and room. Lovely shower products (shampoo, conditoner, soap bar, lotion) and microwave and fridge present in the room. Enough parkingspace and the lake, restaurant and local store are all within walking distance. We would have loved to stay longer.
