Jan Harmsgat Country House is set in a historic 17th-century farmhouse surrounded by the Langeberg Mountains and the Breede River. Absolute gem! Very nicely appointed, generously big rooms with extraordinary attention to details and personal touches. The estate as well as the food is top notch. Make sure to ask for a sunset Picknick with the Land Rover. Francois the General Manager also is a total beauty! Highly recommend!

Wonderful hostess, place with an inspiring mission statement, historical rennovated buildings with a lot of character. There was a heater and the blankets were very warm. Great location with secure parking. Nice breakfast!

Swellendam is a very cute little town, the third oldest town in South Africa. It has a nice historic museum, good quality restaurants and an amazing nature reserve. We loved the very unique Marloth Nature Reserve (taken the route nr.2.)! Everything together will remain a very good memory for us.

We absolutely loved staying at Riverbed Guesthouse! The room + bath are spacious, super clean, stylish and comfy. We really appreciated the little details e.g. the coffee machine incl. milk frother. The garden is awesome with a nice pool, a little stream in the back and a beautiful view on the mountains. Further, the owners were super friendly - we immediately felt welcome and at home. Dolittle Cottages is set in Swellendam and has a pool with a view and mountain views. There is a private entrance at the chalet for the convenience of those who stay. We were just driving through and needed a place to stay. The hostess was lovely and accommodating. The unit is fully equipped nice kitchen, braai and the rooms are comfy with a backup generator. As a bonus (if you like animals) there were donkeys sheep and chickens to hang out with. Would stay there again anytime.

The house is so beautiful and all is cosy decorated. Very good bed and shower. We wished we could stay longer!! The food in the restaurant is amazing!
